German carmaker BMW has announced it is adding one thousand new jobs to its manufacturing facilities in South Carolina.
The Spartanburg plant, already the largest BMW facility in the U.S., will grow even larger with the company’s announced $600 million in new investments over the next four years, CNBC reported.
“It’s a great day for us here in Spartanburg and South Carolina and for the BMW group,” BMW chairman Harald Kruger said. “The workforce will be well above 10,000 people, which is, in my view, clearly a symbol of success.”
The improvements will mean that the plant will be able to produce as many as 450,000 new vehicles annually.
When Corey Stewart announced his intention to challenge Ed Gillespie for the Republican Governor of Virginia primary, the establishment GOP cringed.
He was considered a loudmouth, a sensational politician who was too controversial for political consultants navigating the anti-Trump hysteria fueling the left. He believed strongly in curbing illegal immigration and pushing a “drain the swamp” anti-establishment agenda much like the president. And his fiery defense of Confederate monuments proved he would not back down when challenged by political correctness.
He aggressive style horrified seasoned consultants, but for the tech leaders at Harris Media he was great for Facebook live.
“That was kind of our silver bullet,” political director Rory McShane of Harris said in an interview with Breitbart News.
Monday’s decision by the U.S. Supreme Court to lift the injunction against most of President Donald Trump’s “travel ban” is a major victory — and not just because he will be able to implement the policy, but because the case is only scheduled to be heard in the fall, i.e. in October at the earliest.
Because most of the controversial provisions of the executive order only last 90 days, Trump it could be fully implemented before the Court hears the case.
The Court is prevented from hearing disputes that are already moot. There must be an active case or controversy in order for challenges to the executive order to be heard. The second version of Trump’s Find Out More…
Monday on “CBS This Morning,” while discussing the Republican health care bill, House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi (D.-CA) said “hundreds of thousands of people” would die if that bill passed.
When asked if Republicans will get enough votes in the Senate to pass the bill, Pelosi said, “I don’t think anybody knows that right now. Maybe Mitch McConnell does. But right now, at this moment, on Monday, we haven’t seen the CBO report yet. We do know that the many more people — millions — hundreds of thousands of people will die if this bill passes.”
On the House version of the bill, Pelosi said, “These bills systemically, structurally, they are very, very harmful to the American people. They Find Out More…
A spokesperson for the University of Arizona claimed that they have no ties with a visiting scholar from France who identifies as a hippopotamus.
Florentin Félix Morin, who is listed on the University of Arizona’s website as a visiting scholar, argued in the Journal of Theoretical Humanities that his hippo alter-ego has allowed him to navigate the world free from the constraints that “govern human bodies.”
This article explores the formation of a tranimal, hippopotamus alter-ego. Confronting transgender with transpecies, the author claims that his hippopotamus “identity” allowed him to (verbally) escape, all at once, several sets of categorization that govern human bodies (“gender,” “sexuality,” age). He starts with an account of how his metaphorical hippo-self is collectively produced and performed, distinguishing Find Out More…
A minister is threatening to cancel the “biggest ever in Europe” pro-Palestinian event, organised by a group allegedly linked to anti-Semites, Islamists, and terror groups, to be hosted in a government building in Westminster.
Secretary of State for Communities and Local Government Sajid Javid is reported to be considering personally intervening to stop the event, which is to be held in a building controlled by his department, the Queen Elizabeth II Conference Centre.
The Department for Communities and Local Government wrote to the organisers of Palestinian Expo 2017, which is scheduled to start in less than a fortnight, to raise Mr. Javid’s concerns on the 14th of June.
According to Haaretz, the letter cited “concerns that your organisation and those connected with it have expressed public support for a Find Out More…
Maajid Nawaz, a former Islamic extremist-turned-reformist who now runs a counter-extremism think tank, will sue the Southern Poverty Law Center for including him on a list of anti-Muslim extremists, he announced on Bill Maher’s HBO show Friday night.
Nawaz, who is also an author and ran for office in Britain in 2015, runs the Quilliam Foundation, which describes itself as “the world’s first counter-extremism organization,” dedicated to promoting pluralism within Islam and other religions. In October, the Southern Poverty Law Center — a left-wing “anti-hate” nonprofit that frequently targets conservative advocacy groups — listed Nawaz among 15 “anti-Muslim extremists,” including Ayaan Hirsi Ali, Pamela Geller, Brigitte Gabriel, David Horowitz and others.

The Supreme Court of the United States announced Monday that it will review the lower court injunctions blocking enforcement of President Donald Trump’s executive order barring travel from six Muslim-majority countries.
In a per curiam opinion, the Court announced it will consolidate the cases from the U.S. Courts of Appeal for the Ninth and Fourth circuit, Trump v. Hawaii and Trump v. International Refugee Assistance Project, respectively. Both courts found the executive order unenforceable as a likely violation of the U.S. Constitution’s First Amendment Establishment Clause because the lower courts held it was motivated by an intent to disfavor Islam.

President Donald Trump continued fighting against the narrative surrounding the Russian interference into the presidential election, accusing former President Barack Obama of colluding to save Hillary Clinton.
“The reason that President Obama did NOTHING about Russia after being notified by the CIA of meddling is that he expected Clinton would win and did not want to ‘rock the boat,’ Trump wrote on Twitter Monday.
The president focused on a Washington Post article that quoted an Obama official admitting that the administration “choked” when responding to the threat Russia posed.
“He didn’t ‘choke,’” Trump wrote. “He colluded or obstructed, and it did the Dems and Crooked Hillary no good.”
Trump tried to shift the focus on the story away from his administration by Find Out More…
