House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi (D., Calif.) said Monday that she does not subscribe to the calls for President Donald Trump to be impeached.
She made the remarks during a town hall hosted on CNN by Chris Cuomo, who asked the longtime congresswoman about the practical effects of Rep. Al Green (D., Texas) and other Democrats calling for Trump’s impeachment on relations with congressional Republicans.
After briefly saying that these comments are in response to what members are hearing from constituents during the recent recess, Pelosi said, “They know I don’t subscribe to that.”
“In other words, again, if you are talking about impeachment, you are talking about what are the facts. Not that I don’t like him and I don’t like his hair and—what are the facts?” she said. “What are the facts that you would make a case on? What are the rules that he may have violated? If you don’t have that case, you are just participating in more hearsay.”
