SWEDEN — The Iraqi asylum seeker sat next to 21-year-old Hanna on the train and began to masturbate – something he would soon regret.
– Do you sit and masturbate next to me, you damn bastard, Hanna shouted and attacked the man with a bottle.
On November 24th, Hanna was almost asleep by the window on the Öresund railway to Karlshamn, when a 23-year-old asylum seeker from Iraq suddenly appeared and sat next to her.
“I thought it was weird that he wanted to sit with me when there were so many places available on the train,” Hanna told police in a hearing.
But she did not think much more about it and slumbered. However, after a while she looked up and saw the man staring at her with a “sleazy look”.
“The guy had strange movements and I noticed that he looked intensely at me with a sleazy look and I wondered what he was doing.”
Hanna shuts down the music on her headphones, and then she heard that the asylum seeker moaned. He had placed his jacket on his knees, but Hanna could see that the jacket moved up and down. She then understood that the man masturbated. When his jacket slid down, she saw the 23-year-old’s penis. He had a boner.

“I panicked and felt trapped. I did not know if I could get up, because I felt badly threatened by the guy. I’m looking up to see if someone else seems to notice what’s happening, but it does not seem to be the case, Hanna told police.
She eventually got up and and pushed the man to the middle of the hallway, where she hit him with a bottle.
“At the same time, I screamed loudly,” Do you sit and masturbate next to me, you damn bastard.”
– The other passengers must have heard when I screamed.
“I hit him with the bottle several times. I got so angry with what I had been exposed to.”
When the asylum seeker started walking and was trying to leave the train, Hanna tried to prevent him from getting away.
– You are crazy! he screamed to her in English.
A train conductor came out after the incident and talked to Hanna, who told him what the unknown man had done. The train conductor also spoke with the 23-year-old and then asked him to leave the train.
– I said “do not let him leave”. But she did nothing to detain the guy. Instead she let him get off the train without being identified, Hanna told police.
After leaving the train, the man ran away. Hanna had, however, been told that he was living at an asylum residence in Sölvesborg and contacted the place to try to identify the man.
The 23-year-old asylum seeker, who comes from Iraq and has Arabic as a native language, could later be identified and was recently sentenced to pay 80 daily fines for sexual abuse. He will also have to pay SEK 5,000 in damages to Hanna, reports Fria Tider.
In May, the asylum seeker appealed the verdict to the court in Skåne and Blekinge. He believes that the surveillance footage do not prove anything, and he does not want to pay damages to the woman, writes Swedish Radio.
