Last week, the American Health Care Act died an unceremonious death, pulled before it was even put to a vote in the House. Days later, Samantha is still relishing Trumpcare’s defeat.
“Last week was supposed to be a triumph for Republicans,” the “Full Frontal” host opened on Wednesday. “After seven long years, our national nightmare of somewhat affordable health coverage would finally be over.”
“I guess Democrats kind of won,” Bee mused. “The same way the cops won that car chase at the end of Thelma & Louise.”
Both sides of the political divide couldn’t help but notice how a supposedly “great negotiator” proved to be anything but.
“Trump couldn’t sell ObamaCare repeal to a House that voted for it 60 times already?” Bee asked sarcastically. “Closing deals is the one thing President Big Boy Truck was supposed to know how to do!”
Trump didn’t need a single Democrat for the bill to pass, but that didn’t stop him from blaming his political opposition.
“They weren’t going to give us a single vote, so it’s a very difficult thing to do,” Trump said, an explanation Bee found hilarious.
“Yes, and the Atlanta Falcons would have won the Super Bowl, but they had no support from he New England Patriots,” Bee quipped. “Your bill was killed by friendly fire!”
